Quotable Quotes
I recently came across the following quotes about health and wealth that have meant a lot to me since my voluntary absence from Substack over the last few weeks.
The greatest wealth is health.
Health is the greatest gift, contentment the greatest wealth, faithfulness the best relationship- Buddha
It is health that is real wealth and not pieces of gold and silver - Mahatma Gandhi.
Your body deserves the best.
To keep the body in good health is a duty, otherwise we shall not be able to keep our mind strong and clear - Buddha
A healthy attitude is contagious, but do not wait to catch it from others. Be a carrier - Tom Stoppard
Being healthy is a success that many people forget to celebrate.
Glad to be Alive and Healthy
The above quotes really touched the core of my being, more so the last one: “Being healthy is a success that many people forget to celebrate.” Some medical terms have really not sunk into my thick skull as my mother would say, simply because for the most part, I have remained very healthy: no broken bones, no surgery, no prolonged medications, no regular visits to doctor for one illness or the other. I thought I had it made. Then the avalanche of medical words began to pour in: biopsy, oncology, medicalization, integrative medicine, preventive medicine complimentary medicine, colonoscopy, vector organisms - the list goes on and on. Biopsy and colonoscopy were on the first menu that my doctor had to recommend for me to “wade into the waters.” Having to go through the ordeals, with paper works asking questions that I never even remotely thought of was a kick into my guts. But I wade through the waters.
Conclusion:
After what I thought was a never ending swallowing of antibiotics and other medications, it was a big relief to hear the doctor say you are free from all the illnesses they thought were assailing my body. I am very grateful to the medical personnel at WVU medicine in Morgantown and Waynesburg for their professionalism and thoroughness in the performance of their duties and responsibilities. Healthcare may be costly in the United States, but the attention and treatment I received by these medical staff really kept me grateful and hopeful. This is why I celebrate and affirm that quote: Being healthy is a success that many people forget to celebrate.
I am glad to be back and healthy.
I'm so glad that you're returning to health, Ezekiel. We need you!
Thanks for sharing the quotes on health. Fully agree that health is wealth and it is important to remain healthy. Also grateful that you have overcome all of the medical challenges over the past few months.
